What Is a Stable Pool?

A stable pool refers to the concentrated liquidity pool (CLMM) introduced by Raydium. The key feature of this type of liquidity pool is that it can keep the token price stable within a specific range. For this reason, it is commonly called a "stable pool."

Why Create a CLMM Pool?

A CLMM pool allows liquidity providers (LPs) to select a specific price range where the pool's liquidity remains active for trading. This contrasts with constant product automated market maker (AMM) pools, where liquidity is distributed across the entire price curve from 0 to ∞.

Advantages of CLMM Pools:

  1. Higher Capital Efficiency: LPs can deploy their capital more effectively and earn higher returns from trading fees.

  2. Enhanced Liquidity Depth: CLMM pools increase liquidity depth around the current price, improving price stability and reducing slippage for swaps.

  3. Stable Token Prices: For many real-world projects, stable token prices help ensure smooth operations and avoid MEV arbitrage bot interference.

Additionally, creating a stable pool requires minimal costs, significantly lowering the barriers to entry for users.

Steps to create a CLMM pool

  1. Open the liquidity creation page

  2. Connect to the Phantom wallet in the upper right corner

  3. Select the CLMM pool and determine the two pool tokens

  4. Fill in the number of tokens to be added to the pool

  5. The wallet confirms and pays the fees and tokens

  6. Trade a on PandaTool

Tutorial on Creating Raydium Concentrated Liquidity

1. Open the PandaTool Liquidity Creation Page

2. Select the CLMM Pool and Set Tokens

On the PandaTool page, select CLMM Pool and choose the following two tokens:

  • Base Token: The token you are creating.

  • Quote Token: The paired token used to determine the price, typically USDT or USDC.

After selecting the tokens, click "Check Balance" to proceed to the parameter setup.

3. Enter Parameters

Manually set the following parameters:

  • Swap Price: The target stable price for the token after launch.

  • Amount to Add: The number of base tokens you want to add to the liquidity pool.

  • Start Time: The trading start time. By default, trading starts immediately, but you can customize this.

Note: PandaTool's CLMM pool creation tool uses a single-token mode, meaning only the base token needs to be added. The quote token is not required.

4. Confirm with Wallet

After entering all the required information, click the "Create Now" button. Confirm the transaction and pay the fees through your Phantom wallet to complete the CLMM pool creation process.

5. Perform a Swap on Solana Swap

Once the CLMM pool is created, the pool will only contain the base token. Tokens cannot be sold in this state and can only be bought. To enable selling, you need to add quote tokens (USDT/USDC) to the pool.

To do this:

  1. Input the desired USDT/USDC amount at the top. The system will automatically calculate the corresponding base token amount based on your set trading price.

  2. Click "Swap" and confirm the transaction through your wallet to add USDT/USDC to the pool.

FAQ

  1. Do I need a 1:1 ratio of tokens and USDC to add liquidity to a CLMM pool?

    • No, you only need to add a single token. The amount of USDT does not matter.

  2. How much does it cost to create a Raydium CLMM pool?

    • Including gas fees and Raydium's official charges, the total cost is 0.4 SOL.

  3. Can I create a dual-token pool?

    • Currently, only single-token pools are supported. Dual-token pool functionality is under development.

  4. Why do some pools have two types of tokens?

    • As mentioned in the guide, you need to perform a swap on Solana Swap to add the quote token to the pool.

  5. Is Raydium V3 shown in the OKX Web3 wallet a CLMM pool?

    • Yes, Raydium V3 is a CLMM pool.
